Acer's Aspire 3 Touch Hits $589.97 on Amazon — 16GB RAM and a Ryzen 5 for Under $600

Budget laptops usually make you pick a lane: decent screen or decent memory, never both. The 2026 Acer Aspire 3 currently sitting at $589.97 on Amazon tries to dodge that tradeoff, and for a touchscreen daily driver, the combo is genuinely hard to argue with. This is a limited-time deal, so the price isn't guaranteed to stick around.

What $589.97 actually buys you here

The headline is the touchscreen. A 15.6-inch FHD IPS panel with multi-touch support and Acer's anti-glare ComfyView coating is a nice thing to find at this price, especially since touch on a budget machine often means a dimmer, cheaper panel. Wide viewing angles and 1080p sharpness should cover document edits, video calls, and the usual streaming without complaint.

Under the hood it's the Ryzen 5 7520U — four cores, eight threads, boosting to 4.3GHz — paired with Radeon 610M graphics. That's not a gaming chip and it's not pretending to be. It's a 15W part built for keeping things cool and quiet during long stretches of browser tabs, spreadsheets, and lecture recordings.

The part that matters more day to day: 16GB of LPDDR5 and a 512GB NVMe SSD. Plenty of laptops near this price still ship with 8GB, which starts feeling cramped the moment you open a dozen tabs. Having double that out of the box means you won't be shopping for an upgrade in year one.

• Two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports, dual USB-A, and HDMI 2.1 — more than many budget machines offer
• Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 keep wireless current
• Full-size numeric keypad, which is handy if you do any data entry
• Pure Silver finish, ENERGY STAR certified for efficiency

Who this fits — and who should keep looking

If you're a student, a remote worker, or someone who needs one reliable machine for the household, this is close to a sweet spot. The touch panel is genuinely useful for handwritten notes and quick navigation, and the memory headroom means it'll stay comfortable for a few years of normal use.

Gamers and anyone doing real creative work should pass. The Radeon 610M is integrated graphics, fine for streaming and light multimedia but not for modern titles or heavy video editing. Likewise, if you need all-day unplugged endurance, check real-world battery reviews before committing — Acer advertises long battery life, but 15W chips and touchscreens vary a lot in practice.

One note on the listing: it's sold by a third-party seller (PC Outlets) through Amazon, though it ships with free 30-day returns and free return shipping, which softens the risk.

Is this a good price?

At $589.97 after 16% off, you're paying budget-laptop money for a configuration that's a notch above entry level — specifically the 16GB of RAM and the touch IPS display. Comparable 15.6-inch Ryzen 5 machines with 16GB and a 512GB SSD typically hover in a similar range, but they often skip the touchscreen or the USB-C pair.

The catch is that this is flagged as a limited-time deal, and Amazon pricing on Acer models swings around. If the specs match what you need, there's little reason to wait for a deeper cut that may not come. If you're on the fence, keep an eye on the listing — the discount window is the main thing that could close.

Bottom Line

• $589.97 gets you a 15.6-inch FHD IPS touchscreen, Ryzen 5 7520U, 16GB LPDDR5, and a 512GB NVMe SSD
• 16GB of RAM out of the box is the standout at this price — many rivals still ship 8GB
• Integrated Radeon 610M graphics means it's for everyday work and media, not gaming
• Limited-time deal sold by a third-party seller, but with free 30-day returns
