If you're after a dependable laptop for everyday tasks, this Dell 15 touchscreen might fit the bill. It's currently $799.99 on Amazon, marked down 43% from the usual price. The specs are modest but well-rounded: a 13th Gen Intel Core i5, 16GB of DDR5 memory, and a 512GB SSD. The 15.6-inch FHD touchscreen is handy for navigating Windows 11 Pro, though its 220 nits brightness means it's best indoors. At just over four pounds, it's portable enough for commuting or campus life. Let's break down what you're getting for the money.
What's Under the Hood
The Dell LDC15250 runs on a 13th Gen Intel Core i5-1334U, a 10-core chip that's built for everyday productivity. You're not going to edit 4K video on this thing, but for office apps, web browsing, and video calls, it's plenty. The 16GB of DDR5 RAM at 4400 MT/s keeps things snappy when you've got a bunch of tabs open, and the 512GB NVMe SSD means fast boot times and quick file access.
Graphics come from Intel's integrated UHD solution, so gaming is limited to lighter titles and older games. That's typical for a business-oriented laptop like this. The 15.6-inch FHD touchscreen is an IPS panel with an anti-glare coating, which helps with reflections, though the 220 nits brightness won't win any awards for outdoor visibility.
Who Should Buy This?
This laptop is a good fit for students, office workers, or anyone who needs a reliable machine for daily tasks. The touchscreen adds a layer of convenience for scrolling and tapping, and Windows 11 Pro brings business-friendly features like BitLocker and Remote Desktop. If you're a creative professional or a gamer, you'll want to look elsewhere—the integrated graphics and modest screen brightness aren't built for those workloads.
Port selection is decent: you get USB-C, two USB-A ports, HDMI, and an SD card reader. That's more than you'll find on many ultrabooks these days. At 4.28 pounds, it's not the lightest 15-inch laptop, but it's manageable for carrying around.
Is $799.99 a Good Price?
For a 13th Gen Core i5 with 16GB DDR5 and a 512GB SSD, $799.99 is a fair deal. Similar configurations from other brands often hover around $850–$900, especially with Windows 11 Pro. The 43% discount is substantial, but keep in mind that laptop prices fluctuate—this is a solid buy if you need a machine now, but it's not an absolute steal. If you can wait, you might find a slightly better price during major sales events, but there's no guarantee this exact model will drop much lower.
