LG Gram 14 with Ryzen AI 7 450 Drops to $1,499 — Is This Ultralight Worth It?

If you've been eyeing a laptop that practically disappears in your bag, the LG Gram series has always been a solid pick. Right now, Amazon is selling the 14-inch Gram with AMD's Ryzen AI 7 450 for $1,499 — that's 9% off the usual price. It's not a massive discount, but for a machine this light and well-equipped, it's worth a closer look.

What You're Getting for $1,499

The headline here is the weight. At 2.47 pounds and just 0.67 inches thick, this is one of the lightest 14-inch laptops you can buy. LG also claims it passed seven MIL-STD-810H durability tests, so it should handle the bumps of daily commuting without much drama.

Under the hood, you get AMD's Ryzen AI 7 450 processor paired with Radeon integrated graphics, 16GB of LPDDR5x memory, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. That's a sensible combo for productivity, web work, and light creative tasks. The 14-inch WUXGA IPS display has a 16:10 aspect ratio and tops out around 350 nits — fine for indoor use, though you might want more brightness if you work outside often.

Battery life is another strong point. The 72Wh cell is rated for up to 32 hours of video playback, which in real-world use probably translates to a full workday and then some. And since it's a Copilot+ PC, you get Windows 11 Home with all the AI features Microsoft is pushing these days.

• Ultralight at 2.47 lbs — easy to carry all day
• 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD leave little to upgrade later
• 72Wh battery with claimed 32-hour video playback
• 14" WUXGA IPS display with 16:10 aspect ratio
• Copilot+ PC with Windows 11 Home

Is This a Good Price?

A 9% discount isn't going to make anyone's jaw drop, but LG Gram laptops tend to hold their value, and this is a current-gen model with the Ryzen AI 7 450. Historically, we've seen similar Gram configurations hover around the $1,500 mark, so this deal mostly brings it back to a familiar price rather than setting a new low.

That said, if you need an ultralight laptop right now and the specs fit your workflow, $1,499 is a fair price for what you're getting. Just don't expect it to disappear from shelves at this price — it's more of a modest markdown than a blowout.

• 9% off is a modest discount, not a record low
• Price is in line with typical Gram pricing for this tier
• Worth grabbing if you value portability over raw power

Who Should Buy This

This laptop makes the most sense for frequent travelers, students, or anyone who carries a laptop all day and wants to forget it's there. The combination of low weight, long battery life, and a sharp 16:10 screen is genuinely useful for writing, spreadsheets, and web browsing.

If you're a gamer or do heavy video editing, look elsewhere — the integrated Radeon graphics won't cut it for demanding workloads. But for everyday productivity with a bit of AI acceleration on the side, the Gram 14 is a solid companion.

• Great for commuters, students, and digital nomads
• Not ideal for gaming or heavy creative work
• 16GB RAM is enough for most multitasking

Bottom Line

• LG Gram 14 with Ryzen AI 7 450 is $1,499 on Amazon after 9% off.
• Weighs just 2.47 lbs and is 0.67 inches thin — extremely portable.
• 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and a 72Wh battery rated for up to 32 hours of video playback.
• Discount is modest; buy if you need an ultralight now, not as an investment.
